Hey all! First off - HAPPY 2014! WE MADE IT! HOORAY!
So now the Christmas season is over and it's officially the New Year - I thought i'd post about one of my personal favourite things to do - TRAVEL.
Travelling has only recently become a favourite thing of mine to do. It's just such a wonderful pass-time and so much fun.
You can experience wonderful countries, different food and people. Get to know about different cultures first hand and just get to do things you normally wouldn't do.
Not to mention, relax like crazy!
A few places i'm dying to get to are:
- Greece (Mykonos)
- Italy (Rome)
- Spain (Barcelona)
- England (London + surrounds)
- Ireland (Dublin + surrounds)
But trust me, that is only the beginning of what is an incredibly long list.
I'd basically love to travel all over the world - I mean, who wouldn't, right?
When travelling, I like to take my whole house with me. Meaning, over packing by about a months worth and taking all of my little comforts with me haha.
This is definitely something i'm going to have to get over if I want to get to all of the places on my list!
So, when will I start travelling?
As soon as my bank account allows me too! Haha.
One downside to travelling is the expense, of course. Everything you do is going to cost you.
From the plane ride, to transfers from the airport, accommodation, shopping, food, sight seeing and any other activities you may wish to do whilst on your adventure.
What's the plan then?
My plan right now is to work and save. Super original, I know. But seriously guys - there is no other way around it. If you want to travel, you need to work. Hard!
But that's all part of the journey getting to your dream destination. I usually find the anticipation of waiting for the special event to get here is far greater than the actual holiday. Mainly because I get ridiculously sad whenever I have to leave and go home!
Holidays are great for new adventures, but you mustn't forget to take some time out for some R&R!
Remember - you're there for a holiday! Not to tire yourself out constantly and go home feeling worse than when you left.
I think a lot of people try to do way too many things each day when they go to different places.
I get it. You want to make sure you get the most of your trip - however it doesn't hurt to set aside a few days just to chill out at the hotel (Or wherever you're staying) and just take it all in.
There's usually a spa of sorts at most hotels - or if not - just go out and find one and have a pamper day.
Or perhaps you find sports or working out relaxing. That's totally fine! Go for a swim or something. Check out some beaches (You can be touristy AND relax at the same time - bonus!)
Just remember to not burn yourselves out before the holiday is over :)
My question to you is:
What place(s) have you always wanted to travel to and why?
Would love to hear from you guys!
Much love + a happy and safe 2014!
